I just got a pair of skates. My first pair since I was in elementary school. And I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to rediscover the simple pleasure of ice skating. The weather seems perfect for skating these days. Right around the -1 to -5 mark. The sun is out, and the skating is FREE.
The Danforth is blessed with 3 neighbourhood rinks: Riverdale Park, Withrow Park, and Monarch Park. A map of all of the GTA’s rinks can be found here.
Here are the schedules for ice skating and shinny:
The Ice Skating Schedule for Withrow Park can be found here.
The Ice Skating Schedule for Riverdale East can be found here.
The Ice Skating Schedule for Monarch Park can be found here.
Also keep in mind that Withrow Park has a small hill perfect for taking toddlers and small kids toboganning, while Riverdale Park East has a much bigger toboganning hill to please kids of all sizes. An added bonus is Riverdale Park’s perfect panorama view of Toronto’s skyline.
Skating, Toboganning, Great Views…. What are you waiting for?
